Kasdeya: The muli-hued lass made her way through the pines, nose and pointed audits twitching every few moments. She wasn't looking for anything in particular, mostly someplace quiet to rest her paws and maybe hunt down a squirrel or two. She was a little hungry, after all. She'd been travelling for a while, having come here from a vastly different land. Here the animals practiced in some sort of..religion. Odd to her, but most likely these other canines had grown up with it. She huffed quietly and sat herself next to a small conifer to talk a break from her walk. This place seemed alright enough, now to just find something to snack on...
Diego was a traveler of sorts; never quite staying in one location for long. He liked to see what was out there instead of settling down within the first forest he'd come across. Munte's kingdom had been about his third or fourth forest that he'd come to, though with each visit, Diego never knew what to expect from the locals. Some were aggressive, while others were not. He'd arrived some time ago, though, having decided to take a nap to rest up. It wasn't until the sun was at its peak that Diego arose from his nap to stretch out and explore. With his nose to the ground, Diego had considered hunting, but let's face it - a lone wolf hunting wouldn't bring down anything worth while. So, instead, Diego lifted his snout to the skies and sang a song of invitation. Surely, there were other hungry wolves in the area.
Tarth emerged from the woods with a bristled coat sparkling with water. The female had just crossed the Foame River, pink tongue lolling from the effort of exerting her energy. She paused before she breached the woods, and shook out her coat, and quickly skirted the Vale of Shadows. She was aware that her presence could pose as a threat to other more outlandish wolves. It's been so long, she thought, as she saw the familiar shade of red dotting a line of enormous firs. Nothing's really changed here. I was only a pup when I first glimpsed these blossoms, after all. She quickly scented the air, testing to see if this territory has been claimed yet. No... no, it has not. Odd, she thought. But perhaps the dark superstitions drove away potential Draggas. Mildly relieved that nobody had taken up the mantle yet, she pushed on through the unclaimed territory. It wasn't until she had reached the heart of the poppy fields did she freeze, dark fur bristling. The sound of a lone wolf, bringing his song into the air: an invitation. Her tail automatically shot up, but it was only her way; she was a Drappa after all. Realizing her manners were more important, she lowered her tail, and tried to remain calm before she made her way to the copse, certain by the howl and the smell that there was at least a wolf in the location. There was the scent of another female, as well, but with all the tempting musks of other animals, it was difficult to pinpoint where the female might be at present. "I've come with Larka's Blessing," she called, before she revealed herself through the trees. It was the wolf's way around these parts to invoke the name of Larka when greeting another.
Kasdeya: The lady stood as the sound of a howl an invitation permeated the air around her, distracting her from all previous thoughts. She stretched, pushing her paws out in front of her and a yawn separating her jaws. She straightened herself and sniffed at the air, detecting the presence of a male. She headed toward him, as she'd feel more comfortable in the presence of a male than she would a female. As she grew closer she noted that there was now another scent. A female. She let out a grunt and shook her head slightly before revealing herself to the others as well. "Hello." She said simply, unaccustomed to the way of the land here. Her voice was soft as velvet and smooth as the finest wine, and her tail wagged slightly as she approached the other canines.
Diego had ended his song of invitation in wonder of how many would join him on a feast, and how long he would have to wait for them to show themselves. It hadn't taken long for a stone-hued female to join him, followed by a more earthy hued female. Diego normally would have assumed that they had come together, but judging how they greeted each other, Diego could tell that they were two strangers. "Hi there; thank you for coming." Diego greeted with the lick of his lips and nod of his head. Three would do plenty for his empty stomach. "The name's Diego. Figured we could hunt something of decent size as a group. I'm tired of living off of rabbits and squirrels... "
Tarth observed the other female with minimal judgment; she was not one to envy other females unless they caught the attention by her own mate... then there was trouble, and she would not hesitate to let the fur fly. The mystery female was a pretty wolf, anyway, and Tarth admired females that could carry themselves proudly. Tarth didn't miss the gestures the female gave her. She offered the haughty female a smile, willing to hold the female's gaze. Her expression was plain: Oh, there's no need for all that, honey. Then, she took a moment to observe the male. He's not like Tywin, she chuckled, but he looks strong, and confidently at ease with the two females in his presence. Perhaps he would make a good addition to the Citadel pack, and maybe this female...? Don't jump the brook so soon, she thought. Her thoughts were interrupted when the male proposed a hunt to them both, an enticing offer she could not refuse. She had to contain her excitement. Maintaining the composure and look of a Drappa, she said, "What luck for you then, Diego. I passed a herd of wild deer on the way from the Citadel territory. There are some elders that straggled behind. With the three of us, I'm certain we could take one of them down. I might even let you both have first dibs if we are successful," she teased. "By the way--my name is Tarth." She was ready to go, and waited for their cues. [d]
Kasdeya: She gave a nod to the female. She'd caught the meaning behind that look, alright, and her returning gaze was apologetic. She'd grown up around male, and thus was unused to other women, and more distrustful of them. She narrowed her eyes slightly at Diego. There was nothing wrong with rabbits or squirrels. In fact, they were her favorite snack. She wouldn't mind deer, though. Her mouth watered as the other girl, Tarth, revealed to them that there was a herd nearby. She suddenly remember how hungry she was. "A hunt would be wonderful." She said, her voice still soft. She wasn't very loud, normally. "Oh, and my name is Kasdeya." She said with a bow of her head. She shook her head again, mostly to rid herself of the pine needles the breeze had blown into her fur. It was what she got for sitting under a pine tree, she supposed.
Diego observed them both within the silence as the two females seemed to create a tension so thick that he thought that they might have a go at each other. It seemed that the darker female, now known as Tarth, put Kassie in her place without having to speak a word. Impressive, Diego mused with a smirk and an arch of his brows. He would remain silent until they actually spoke, however, as Diego wasn't one to put his nose where it did not belong. "Pleasure to meet you both," Diego nodded respectfully, licking his lips at the mention of a herd. He caught Kassie's eye narrowing at him, and he truthfully couldn't help but to chuckle at her. He stood to raise his tail at her with a snort in an act of dominance with a facial expression that read: Don't even try it. Once it was clear that Kassie got his message, though, Diego settled down; he didn't tolerate disrespect, especially from strangers who knew nothing about him. "That herd sounds lovely," Diego commented with a flick of his ears as he took a moment to look around. "Where exactly is the Citadel territory, Tarth? I'm not from the area," Diego mused with the flick of his tail. "Is the Citadel territory an unclaimed area, or are we actually going to hunt on pack ground? Perhaps we could invite them to hunt with us, as well.. "
Tarth nodded; it seems the two females were now at an understanding. "I shall call you Kas for short, I hope you don't mind. It is easier to remember." Tarth gazed skyward to study the position of the sun before they proceeded with the hunt. "The heat is really starting to bear down on us," she murmured in an off-hand way to her newfound hunting companions. She didn't notice as Diego put Kas in her place. Her thoughts were on food now, and when food took over every rationale, it was hard to pull a wolf away from wanting to act on their instincts. She continued conversationally. "Now is a good time to get this hunting business rolling before Fenris bakes us alive..." Then, Diego asked about the Citadel. She had to focus on his question, because she was feeling distracted at this point. "The Citadel is beyond the river, so it's a ways off. It is claimed, but don't worry about hunting on it if we chase the herd through there, because I will allow it... just this once. This piece of land isn't claimed, and is not a part of the Citadel. Planning on taking it for your own, are you? What about you, Kas? Would you claim this land as your own, and perhaps take Diego as your mate? You both would make fine pups." A bold thing to say, but it was only her way of things, and she spoke the truth. They were a handsome pair, if they so chose. Mating season was just around the corner, and the fever would take hold of them both whether they liked it or not. She took off and crossed the creek, and crept into a crouch among a group of poppies, trusting that her companions were close by. She hoped so, or her speech would fall on nonexisting ears. "If you move up here to these patches of flowers, you'll see the herd. In my current position, I cannot see how many there are, perhaps one of you can? How well do either of you know this land?" She paused, pushing her nose through a few bobbing stems to get a better look at the herd. "I think if we split up and surround the herd, and stay downwind so they cannot smell us, we could close in on the stragglers quickly. That's my suggestion, but if either of you have a better idea..." She trailed off. "Ahh, look! You can see that old doe in the grass a ways off from the healthier deer." She gestured with her nose to the feeble doe, whose flanks were heaving--she was near her time, and surely, the wolves would do the old deer a huge favor by claiming her life quickly. It was the natural way, after all.
Kasdeya: The lass gave Tarth a look of incredulity, her soft yellow eyes wide. She certainly didn't beat around the bush. Straight to the point, eh? She looked at the ashen male and then back to the other female. "I-I. I've only just met him." She said, the slight shock evident in her voice. She wasn't usually this easily embarrassed, but she'd never even considered the fact that she might take a mate in her lifetime. "I've never thought about claiming any land." She said quietly, but the darker woman had planted the seed in her mind already. It certainly would be nice to have a home and someone to be by her side. Ah, that didn't matter at the moment, it was time to hunt. She lowered herself down and crawled after the darker woman, her nose twitching as she smelled the deer. "I know little of this land, I've only just begun to travel it." She said. "I think you have a strong idea, though." She said. The elderly doe would stand little chance against three fully grown wolves.
Diego's thoughts were purely on getting a pack of wolves to help them out when Tarth stole his attention as she went on about how he and Kassie would make lovely children together. This, of course, caused Diego to arch his brows towards Tarth in wonder as he smirked towards Kassie; her coloration matched with his would make for some good children, but both Diego and Tarth had to put her in her place within a matter of seconds. Nonetheless, Diego remained silent about her suggestion as he continued to smirk towards Tarth. "Do you normally try to pressure total strangers into makin' children, Tarth?" Diego smirked with the roll of shoulder and shake of his head. "I would be happier joining the ranks of a pack and building my reputation that way; I want to build a name for myself before I bother seeking out a mate or starting a family." Diego announced with the roll of shoulder, again, as he tilted his head. She would allow it, just this once? Interesting female, this one was. "Let's take the elder doe. What could go wrong?"

Kasdeya exits
Tarth had to keep herself from rolling her eyes as she glanced at her blushing companions through the grass. They acted like a bunch of children! It was endearing, but Diego seemed less flustered than poor Kas. "I have no doubts that the gods blessed you with this meeting. Call it fate or destiny. So why not? I've barely known Ty before we got busy." Was she joking? It was hard to say, but she did give the coyest of smiles at her companions. "And perhaps, Diego, we can discuss how we can build a name for yourself over some nice, delicious deer steak. Let's focus on catching our beloved meals for now." Her attention went back to the herd as she plotted how they should take their positions. Several seconds crept by, and though Tarth was ready to give them her plans, she did not hear anything from Kas. Not even a breath. She turned her head, and then looked puzzled at Diego. "Did Kas start already? I didn't hear her say she was ready."
Diego had, of course, not blushed nearly as much as the disappearing lady had. This, no less, filled his mind with even more questions, including one that Tarth had answered, though now he couldn't tell if she was joking or not. Likely not, if she had been serious about him and Kas. Pfft, Diego had higher standards than to simply breed some unworthy female for the sake of a territory. No, Diego had other things in mind, such as his career. “That sounds lovely, Tarth. Let's call it a date, shall we?” His attention went back to the herd as he began to study them, not realizing they were alone until his date mentioned. “If she did, the herd seems not to have noticed her.” Diego commented with the lick of his lips and shrug of shoulder as he took his position. “C'mon. We don't need her.”
Tywin: The late afternoon sun had begun it's slow descent towards the earth, every blade of grass and petal of flower happily warmed. Tywin had beheld Citadel's territory in all it's grandeur from the Stone Cliff at noon, canary yellow eyes taking in all the beauty except for the most integral part. Tarth. Just the thought of her storm hued pelt made butterflies do cartwheels in his stomach, while descending the cliff it had dawned on him that her scent was faint. Wet nose was sent heavenward and paws navigated the ground beneath in sync, the wind rustling loose bits of his winter coat and leaving them behind for the birds to nest with. Tywin didn't doubt that Tarth could hold her own but as he crept through the North Vale of Shadows an aching feeling throbbed in his throat, for it was a district with a bad reputation. Lean muscle mass propelled Tywin parallel to the thick growth of spruce trees until motion was forced to slow, up ahead eyes locked onto a herd of deer. She was close, but the opportunity of food wouldn't be ignored. Lips were licked and head lowered to level with strong shoulders, foot falls almost indistinct as he finally caught sight of Tarth off in the distance...with...someone.
Tarth grunted; Kas leaving them like this would make hunting harder. "Seven fucking hells..." Much like smoke heralding the coming of fire, Tarth's temper was beginning to show by the merest flicker of narrowing eyes and a rather twitchy, irritated tail. She hated things that she had no control over. Diego managed to put out that fire by giving what sounded like an off-hand flatter. Tarth pounced on it, not letting that get away, like how a fat cat would hold down a cheeky little mouse. "Ohh, a date? Oh, my sweet spring-coated sugarlump, what would my mate think of that?" She cocked an eye at his carefree playfulness, a trait she felt curious in others. It was a trait in herself she could not afford. That in of itself made Diego interesting. Had it not been for Tywin's sheer straightforwardness; that bold, reckless way he desired her, and the way her heart burned for his love, Tarth would have considered Diego in the late suns of courtship. Luckily for Tywin, his mate's loyalty was absolute. "You're pretty confident, I'll give you that. I suppose we have nothing to lose by trying." She dropped her voice to a whisper. It was time to get serious. "I'll flank with you; make sure they don't make it into the woods. The elders are slow, but even they will stand a chance if they have trees to slow us down. The way I come in will hopefully scare away the herd, separating them from the old doe. Wait for my signal." She mirrored Diego and moved into position on the other side of the field, making sure she remained low in the grass, and downwind from the deer. None of them picked their heads up from nature's salad buffet. And from what Tarth could see, none harnessed a crown of horns. The herd's leader was... missing? But there was something else. In the air; it caught her attention. Tywin? This moment of distraction nearly cost her; one of the deer snapped it's head up and looked in her direction. The young doe blinked, pausing in her chew, ears fully erect. Her stubby little tail waggled tentatively behind her. Tarth had to hold her breath; she nearly smashed herself against the earth in the effort to stay hidden. A sudden breeze made the poppies bob to and fro, and for a split second, Tarth could have sworn she locked eyes with the doe. One of the doe's ears relaxed, and she dropped her head. Tarth steadily exhaled, feeling her heart determined to make a hasty exit through her throat. Be careful, Tarth, you dolt. She lifted her tail up, ever so slightly. It was a universal signal that she was getting ready to make her move; she counted on Diego to make his. With an attempt to remain silent, Tarth crept forward, her nose pushing through the flowers. The old doe was her target, and she was lying in her patch of grass, nibbling on some weeds. A reddish-brown backside was facing Tarth. Everything seemed to go perfectly. Her muscled tensed, her tail flicked another signal, and she sprang...
Diego flickered an ear towards Tarth's comment towards Kas and considered a moment that he might have pissed her off, which would have worked perfectly fine with hunting. That was, until his comment caused a bit of an un uproar from his innocent little comment in regards to a date. “I'm a sweet spring-coated sugarlump?” Diego shook his head at her rather colorful.. Insult? Was that even an insult? He flickered an ear towards her with an arch of his brows. “I don't know what your mate would think. I don't read minds, but you are welcome to invite him. I wasn't asking you out on an actual date-date. Twas a business date, since we were going to talk over dinner...” Diego mused, taking his place as he would await for her signal.. . and once that happened, Diego would charge forward, barking and howling in order to scatter the herd, so that they could separate the old girl, and Tarth would meet them halfway and put on the killer blow.
Tywin watched the pair part ways, the all too familiar slinking image of Tarth preparing to hunt causing a grin to slide across his muzzle. The target of the old doe was a wise choice, the same one he'd have made were the roles reversed and for a split second the whole thing almost fell apart. Then they were off, the nameless male sounding the alarm to which the herd awakened. The sound of panic could be felt through the vibrations which shook the nearest ground they stood upon, hooves colliding with earth as the stampede began. Tywin slunk along the tree line still out of sight but in a position where the deer were running straight for him, silver hued body stalking into a trot and finally breaking into a full run. The Dragga's plan was to cause chaos and disrupt the deer's path into the forest, only for a short while until he'd head straight for the old doe which Tarth was after from behind. -- Teeth gnashed at the air, tail naturally posted high up above the rest of his body as the madness ensued. Hooves dug into the ground and their prey scattered in every direction, the elder skidding to a stop as confusion on which way to go froze her mid step. Tywin would be visible to both wolves now as he b-lined for the target, eyes hoping to catch Tarth's and send a wink her way.
Tarth did not forget Tywin's presence, and it lingered heavily in the air. In one graceful, fluid motion, her mate had joined the hunt. His presence stopped the doe from making any attempts for an escape. The all-too familiar feeling of that rush one would get... that blood-pumping adrenaline... it was a visceral, liquid fire in her veins. She was already descending fast upon the doe, of whom had moved and was up on her hooves at this point. The doe gathered her wits, and reacted quickly for such an old thing. No matter, thought Tarth, the doe is done for. She was confident that fangs and claws would take the old doe's hindquarters, except... it didn't happen, at least not in the way Tarth expected. A couple of cloven hooves hit her square in the face, throwing her on her back with a sharp, painful yelp. Head swimming, Tarth stumbled her way through white-hot stars that danced at the corners of her vision. She shook her head, like one trying to rid herself of flies. Something red disturbed her vision, a flash in front of her face. Tarth's reflexes were on-point, and jaws found flesh. An angry growl bubbled through her chest, but in a moment of desperation, she wasn't sure what she was holding on to. In a confusing blur, she tumbled and hit the ground many times, but she refused to let go. It wasn't until the world stopped spinning that Tarth realized that she had her mouth buried deep into the old doe's neck. The old girl kicked, and kicked. Tarth wasn't as strong as well-built male, but she did have an extraordinary amount of hardheadedness that made up for it. With one fatal crunch, her teeth successfully hit the deer's jugular, and the body went limp. She let go, fangs sliding easily from flesh, mouth coated in crimson. Remembering then what Diego had said last, she said, "Call it what you will," she said breathlessly. "It's all jokes, you know. You weren't laughing. That's okay, because I was told before that I wasn't really funny." "This deer, though," she grunted painfully, "was no joke. Serves me right for underestimating the old girl..." She turned to Tywin, her eyes lit up, tail thumping on the ground. "You came at the right moment." Her bloody tongue started licking the air as she crept up to him. She wanted to kiss him all over his face.
